Joe Bob Perkins was the founding President of Targa Resources in 2003. He served as Chief Executive Officer until March 2020 and Executive Chairman until January 2021. Joe Bob still serves on the Targa Resources board. Joe Bob is also Chairman of the board of Orennia Inc., Chairman of the board of Velentium, and serves on the board of Priority Power. Joe Bob is a volunteer board member for the Houston Methodist Hospital system and the Houston Methodist Academic Institute. Prior to Targa, Joe Bob served as President/COO of the wholesale power businesses of Reliant Energy, has other energy related experience including Coral Energy, Tejas Gas and Mesa Petroleum, and consulted for McKinsey & Company. He earned a BS Petroleum Engineering cum laude from Texas A&M University and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
